Many years ago I found a pack of "dinosaurs" that included this: the toy that was Gary Gygax's inspiration for the rust monster.
At some point, I committed heresy and chopped off the blades of its propeller-tail. Fixing that mistake and putting this thing on a nice base are on the current project list.
While I'm fairly certain none of the toys in that plastic bag were identifiable as any known species of dinosaur, I feel pretty confident when I say that this one was the most "out there" design of the bunch. I'm glad the designer came up with this wacky beastie, though - where would Dungeons & Dragons be without its propeller-tailed, sword-eating giant armadillo?
